Do you have an adult bed in your child's room?

This is assuming you have the room.

My mom thinks it is odd that I want to have our spare full size bed in my son's room (my son sleeps in a twin bed). I told her it would be great for when he is sick and such. Then I could sleep in there and DH can get a full night rest.

Am I odd?

Not odd to me but no, theres not an adult bed in the girls room. However, they both have full size beds so if need be I just crawl in bed with them.

Re: Do you have an adult bed in your child's room?

Nope. My children are in twin sized beds and will be until they are too long for them . Guests sleep in the den on an aero bed. I greatly disliked giving up my room as a kid when guests came, so I wouldn't ask that of my boys. Thankfully we have an extra gathering room with a door and a bathroom so it works fine. Neither my children nor I have ever had a need for me to be in the same room with them at night since they moved to their rooms at 3 months of age.

If there was room in DDs room I would have a full size bed in there. She had a twin now but doesn't sleep in it. She sleeps with me.

Nope.

DD has a full sized bed, and when we have company, she sleeps on the couch or on the floor.

Re: Do you have an adult bed in your child's room?

Yes, partly for exactly that reason. In DS's room anyway -- DD never wakes up, so it's not an issue.

DS actually climbs into our bed most mornings when DH gets up at 5 a.m., and that's fine. But if it's a night when he's up and needy, I don't want him in our bed because DH can't sleep with that. And DH can't go to work sleep deprived -- mistakes are not okay at his job.

Actually DS's bed is technically a twin sized loft that's over the full-sized mattress on the floor. The full-size is my stepson's bed. But he's only here 5 weeks in the summer and occasional weekends, so most of the time DS sleeps in that bed. When DSS is here, DS is happy sleeping in his own bed because he has a big brother in the room with him.

Re: Do you have an adult bed in your child's room?

I used to have a loveseat in the nursery with my first born. Occassionally i curled up on it. If we use our spare room for a nursery this time around I will keep the spare bed in there or in one of my other little's room. I don't think it's "odd" at all though.
