Re: Love my sitter, but...

Regarding the log thing... I've never liked those. When I was a nanny I did them because the parents wanted it, but frankly I don't want to see a log of everything. I just want him to be changed often enough that he doesn't get a rash! When I hired my sitter I told her I wouldn't expect a log of everything, that I'd rather she focus on playing with him, taking him on walks, etc. I think a daily log is a next step if it doesn't improve soon. However this is her first full week (which is only 3 days a week) so I'm okay just talking to her.

Is it possible that the prefolds are too complicated for her? I would send something like aio.

Yup we have stacks of prefolds as well as 5 fitteds and 5 pocket diapers (which I stuff before putting in the drawer). I've told her to use pockets if she felt the need, but I think I'll reiterate that just because we have a million prefolds doesn't mean she has to use them. I'm fine washing diapers each night while she's over if it means he's changed enough.

I get not wanting a log. However, maybe the issue is that she honestly can't remember how long it has been since she last changed him? Maybe put a whiteboard up and have her write down the changing times on there, to remind herself, and then you can just erase it at the end of the day.

That's a good idea. I also thought about having a timer she could set to 2 hours after every change, but I like your idea better. Feels less like I've left an electronic drill sergeant.
