I am wondering how much breast milk I should feed my son. He is 6 weeks and about 12 pounds. If he needs to drink from a bottle how many ounces should I pump to feed him at one setting? Tia

Depending on how long between feeds. At 6 weeks I would say 2.5 oz. bf babies usually don't need more than 4 oz in a bottle ever. Usually it's about 1-1.5 oz each hour. So if your baby hasn't eatin in 3 hours it would be 3 oz bottle. Bf babies are easily over fed. Bf babies eat frequent and the composition of your milk changes with the babies needs.

Never more than 4 ounces and one ounce per hour. I feed every two hours, 2.5 ounces. Every child of my own and daycare babies. From birth until weaning.
