where is the correct/proper placement in a truck?

DH drives a truck that has a backseat. It is only on extremely rare occasions that we need to put the carseat into the truck but we're not sure what spot is safest? Does the carseat go into the backseat or the front, does it need to be in the middle, does it need to be forward or rear facing? In my car, DD is almost 3 yrs old RF in a Safety 1st complete air, which is what we want to put into dh's truck once in a while when he needs to take my car someplace.

If it makes any difference, dh's truck is a 1998 Ford F150. He has the ability to turn off the front passenger air bag if that makes a difference too. I know in a car, she needs to be in the backseat but wasn't sure about in a truck. Thank you!

Backseat whenever possible, in whichever location you're able to get a safe install. If you can safely install RFing and that's what you're accustomed to, that's what I'd do.

Are the back seats forward facing regular seats or are the side facing jumpseats?

Re: where is the correct/proper placement in a truck?

With a **keyed** airbag turn off switch, it should be safe to put her RF in the front passenger seat. But to be honest it would just make me nervous...

Is it possible to fit her car seat RF in the back seat of the truck? That would be my first choice if it fits. If not then I would *probably* go ahead and turn it FF in the back seat, since she is 3 (or close to it), before putting it in the front seat. Are there top tether anchors?
