It's not a convertible - it can't be used rear facing. I'm not sure what the lower age/weight/height limits on the seat are, but the AAP recommends rear facing to age 2.

Ah thankyou, fixed that! I tend to think of convertibles as FFing for some reason, even though we use them rear facing here lol.

I guess i'm just curious because I know legally you can FF at 1 year 20lbs (though I know its recommended to do until ae 2 or beyond and we do) but I can't imagine a 1 year old in this seat. I think in the review there was a picture of an 18 month old in it and it just looked odd to me. Is it aimed at the parent of a booster aged child (4+ IMO) who wants to harness longer or is it aimed at the average parent who will FF at age 1?

I think it is marketed as any other combination seat (harness/booster but only ffing)...most ffing only seats start at 1 and 20 lbs. Just like most convertibles say you can ff at 1 and 20 lbs. It is marketed toward the everyday parent just like most other seats.
