Let's talk about destashing newborn fluff.

How do you decide what to keep and what to let go? We don't plan on having another baby for at least 3 years, but anything can happen kwim? What is the thriftiest thing to do? Sell to fund other stuff? Keep it for the next baby? Keep only gn or really sentimental stuff? I am talking about prefolds, fitteds, flats, wool covers, other woolies (longies, hats, gowns), and covers. WWYD?

Keep three woolies, sell the rest
Sell all prefolds/fitteds

We kept 3 woolies, my most favorites. I would love to have them for future babes, but also want new stuff to pet.

For fitteds we destashed/am destashing everything, with the exception of our 24 preemie Apple Bottom Babies. Its very hard to find fitteds that fit a 5 pounder, and they are all impossible to find prints....half girly, half boyish, Elliot and Ella and all the original giraffes, among others. Although, our M and M/L Elbees will be here until I am 50 and cannot possibly have a "oops". Lol!

Re: Let's talk about destashing newborn fluff.

I've kept most everything. Buying NB diapers is challenging, so after baby #2 I think I'm all set for the next one. I might sell of some the bigger diapers though now that I'm certain of what I like. I think it's personal preference. As for the wool, keep only what you love and move everything else out.

Re: Let's talk about destashing newborn fluff.

I kept his 1st diaper for his keepsake box (a sweet pea mwl fitted) then sold off everything that had elastic. I kept all of the wool except pieces that I found I didn't like & the prefolds b/c those are good for other things & heavy to ship (making selling not worth it).

eventually when we have another babe I'll just rebuy nb fitteds & nb aios. besides it's fun to search out & buy tiny diapers when you are preg

Re: Let's talk about destashing newborn fluff.

It's easy for me - we're done (hopefully dh will be getting a V while I am pp) so I will be selling pretty much everything - I might keep some wool for keepsakes.

If we were thinking of more I would probably keep some basics but I figure I can get a pretty good return on my money from my NB stuff and it's so fun to buy it while TTCIng and pregnant that Iwould want to do it again so I would sell pretty much everything anyway!!!

We kept everything, but for us... everything consisted of prefolds, 4 nb covers, 6 nb fuzzibunz. We filled in between with sposies since my kids are nearly 9 pounds to start with and then go quickly into smalls.

Re: Let's talk about destashing newborn fluff.

I kept one special nb diaper for each of my kids who were CD'd as nb's, and sold the rest.

Wool is another story. I've sold *some* but my baby is almost 15 months old and I still have a good deal of it sitting in a box that I can't let go of. Some are hard to find things like nb silly stripes that I am not sure I could ever replace, and others were knit by me and I am just too sentimental about to get rid of right now.

I am sure my daughter will laugh at me one day when I pull out a box of old knit baby clothes

Re: Let's talk about destashing newborn fluff.

I kept 1 dozen nb prefolds to use as doublers and sold all the covers. I would sell anything with elastic.
