Thanks for this! I really need to sell off some tiny stuff that I saved. But if it has elastic, it probably wont last since our next baby is a few years off. If it is not sentimental, I'm selling it!

Re: Let's talk about destashing newborn fluff.

I am talking about prefolds, fitteds, flats, wool covers, other woolies (longies, hats, gowns), and covers. WWYD?

I would keep all prefolds, because there are a hundred uses for them and they won't go bad between babies.

sell fitteds and PUL covers unless you have any that are hard to get (meaning favorites you couldn't replace if you got pregnant again sooner that planned.) because the elastic and stuff could wear out.

keep sentimental wool pieces and you favorite gender neutral ones, and sell everything you may not get to use again, because it has a high resale value.

then use the money to buy more of what you liked best in the next size!

Re: Let's talk about destashing newborn fluff.

I kept wool and prefolds. Sold ALL covers (though now I wish I would have kept *one* for her keepsake box... dang it!). Elastic goes bad in storage, so might as well re-buy later.

So glad I looked at this thread! I was planning to keep all the newbie stuff I liked for the next, not thinking about elastic going bad in storage. Guess its time to destash, thanks for the info!

Re: Let's talk about destashing newborn fluff.

I kept everything from ds over for this babe--pf's and covers--and all of thecovers are like new. I also bought a lot more this time around and am planning on keeping most of it, though I may destash some covers...there is/will be a 26 month difference between kiddoes. I have a bsww cover that is 7 yrs old and is fne, but kissas elastic from thatsame time is shot...If you are waiting a while between kids, sell the covers, elastic stuff, but I'd keep stuff that would last like pf's.

I didn't CD DS that young..but I think I would have kept my stuff. Even if the elastic got shot..easier (and possibly cheaper) to have someone redo the elastic IMO. But maybe I'm wrong lol. I just figure..if you buy diapers new you lose money when you sell. And then have to rebuy all new..unless you buy used. Anyways. I'll stop talking lol!

I would keep what you really loved and sell what you didn't.

Re: Let's talk about destashing newborn fluff.

I always sold after they were out of those sizes, except for maybe a special pair of longies I knit. We are all done with babies now and I have 2 pairs of special newborn longies that some of my boys wore that I knit. I don't plan on keeping any diapering stuff when my youngest is out of diapers.

I also kept prefolds but sold (or am selling) everything else.
