Once you start feeling actual kicks....

After you begin feeling actual kicks, particularly with baby #2 or more, when does the movement become regular and where others can feel it?

I've been feeling slight movement since 13ish weeks. Now finally at 18 weeks I began feeling actual kicks...nothing major but small kicks that I can say are 100% baby. Each day baby has kicked more and more and today I actually felt some kicks during the day (before they were just in the 30 minutes of lying down in bed before gonig to sleep.).

Of course the movement is still slight although obvious. But when will these little kicks ramp up into full blown kicks, especially where DF can see & feel them? I can't remember how long it was from the start of movement to continuous moement with DS. Just curious!

Well for me each pregnancy has been very different. With DS I was about 22 weeks when I could see Jim moving around. This time I have anterior placenta so I didn't actually feel a lot until I hit 30 weeks.

I am 23 weeks on Monday and since about 17 weeks it became more and more noticeable to me, and more frequent. Most of the times I feel it below and sometimes mid stomach. Oh also lately I've been feeling spasm type twitching in what appears to be the vaginal area, but I hear that they are kicks as well. Oh and this is baby #2.

It depends on how thin you are. I felt external kicks around 18 weeks

I felt external kicks at 17 weeks — same time I first recognized movement for what it was. I'm nothing but skin and bones, though, if that makes a difference.

Re: Once you start feeling actual kicks....

this was the latest I have felt external kicks. It was well into mid-20 wks. Now, at 32, the baby can kick the laptop off my lap, but before that, it was rare.

I starting feeling him around 12 weeks this time, was 100% sure of the kicks by 17/18, and became very frequent after 20.

Re: Once you start feeling actual kicks....

I felt all of mine for the first time between 15 - 19 weeks. But none of them were ever regular. The dr's office wanted me to do the baby kick count thing every single day because I'm high risk and I didn't know when to do it because I couldn't count on the baby being awake at any particular time.

felt bumps and flutters very early on with all the kiddos...12-13wks maybe. But actual, constant movement wasn't until 20wks with all 3. and feeling on the outside...21-22wks. But im a little heavier set, i guess

Well, as one of my midwives told me, "when you have a little extra padding...." lol. Baby mad eme nervousa nd didn't move at all yesterday but today he was going pretty good all throughout the day. The kicks are still very light but I know they're there. I just can't wait to see how DS reacts when he can see/feel the kicks!!
