I think people used their regular diaper detergent. Just less of it

I agree! By posting cloth diaper stuff on my facebook I got a friend interested and ultimately using cloth on her son! If handwashing gets attention and leads even one person to cloth it is energy well spent. Especially if it is someone who financially needs the benefits of a more economical way to diaper.

Yes, if it is rough on your hands you can use gloves.

I'm going to participate this year. . Last year we were traveling. I was 7 months preggo and couldn't imagine hand washing dipes for 2 year old twins on the road.

I asked dh today and he's going to make me a camp washer! I'm thinking that it would be a great alternative to soaking & spraying the poopies when the challenge is over.

I'm planning on making one too. What are you going to use?

We're going the bucket/plunger route since I already have the bucket.

I am wanting to do this too! I just bought some osocozy unbleached flats on amazon with my giftcards from swagbucks and I absolutely <3 them! I normally just padfold them and lay in a cover but... I may have to learn some folds. I do like the diaperbag fold for containing poo.

I have a good stash of flats. Last count was 63, but I just found a couple more. I have 8 covers but have been considering a couple more (just wanting more colors/patterns to mix it up).
