Help us stop eating out!

I have been sick recently and have totally gotten into the habit of having DH pick up dinner on his way home. Unfortunately, this doesn't leave leftovers for lunch, which means he's eating out at that meal, too. He eats primal (no grains or legumes, he allows dairy), so pulling together a dinner when I'm tired/sick/etc can be difficult. I can't just put some noodles to boil and add sauce or make everyone grilled cheese. I can make breakfast for dinner, but since we eat eggs almost every morning, takeout is so much more appealing.

Can anyone help with some make ahead dinners (that I could freeze) or quick go-to meals for those nights I can't/don't want to cook? We simply can't afford to eat out like we used to on two salaries. (Easy lunch and breakfast ideas, welcome, too! I'm very guilty of taking DS out for lunch when there's nothing appealing in the house.)

I'm going to cross-post in the primal monthly thread, too. Thanks in advance for any ideas, recipes or links. I KNOW I can do this, but I'd love some help!

My Mood:
Frozen hamburger patties would defrost well. I would suggest a slow cooker. You can dump frozen meat in, like chicken breast and salsa and it's ready by dinner.
