Re: What does everyone have left on their "to do" list before baby?

Oh boy, 36 weeks 1 day today and this is what I still have to do:

finish up 2 custom orders for customers
Make 8 more NB covers for baby
Make 4 more Med covers for DS2
Make new wipes
Set up baby bed in our room which means rearrange our room
Wash and hang baby clothes
pack hospital bag
Write up instructions/schedule for our dogs and my DS's for mom
Write up diaper washing instructions for DH as I always do the laundry
Deep Clean house
Get bottom mattress for bunk bed for DS2
Fill raised garden beds with dirt and possibly plants.
figure our carseat arrangement in car
find a middle name for baby
Go through hall and play room closets and get rid of stuff

I think that is all.

oh, i also have to figure out where the baby will sleep, since I switched the crib out and DS will NOT sleep in the twin bed (that is a bunk bed top on the ground, so like a twin side toddler bed with 4 rails).

Re: What does everyone have left on their "to do" list before baby?

gah! i feel like there's so much! i'm 34 weeks and 2 days right now. i still need to:

- order our homebirth supply kit
- pick up all the other supplies needed for the homebirth
- harass dh into (before i sound like a complete B, these are all things he wanted to take on instead of just buying new like i would have, he just can't seem to do anything unless it's required by TOMORROW. this stresses me out):
- building the shelving unit for the baby's clothes that we're using instead of a dresser
- re-upholstering the rocking chair
- maybe making me a water ring sling? haven't decided on this yet....depends on if the other stuff gets done. but i'd sure like it.
- putting the crib together and moving the cradle that the baby will sleep in at first into our room (ok, the crib isn't critical, but i still want it done....)

- decorate and set up the nursery (everything is there, it's just piled in an unorganize heap in the closet)
- wash all clothes and diapers and put them in the not-yet-built shelving unit
- clean up old gear like pump parts, bottles, etc
- buy the few necessities we're missing (wetbags, diaper bag, bottle nipples, breast milk storage bags, etc)
- get the garden planted
- write thank you cards for the gifts i received at my baby shower last weekend
- finish up a ton of crap at work so that everything doesn't go to hell when i leave for 6 weeks
- get ds signed up for some summer activities so that he's amused while i sit around and nurse the baby (i'm thinking swimming lessons, library storytime, maybe some other things?)
- get daycare for ds and the baby (dh has started working again, sporadically because we have no childcare! must get this done!)
- clean the carseat and get it installed
- get the fing new car running again.

whew. i think that's it. but i'm honestly starting to freak. stupid crap keeps coming up that is interfering with this stuff. like, for example, a week ago, "buy a new car" was on my to-do list, since we simply can't sustain the 1-car family thing anymore. car is bought. car died 24 hrs later. we spent $$$ getting car fixed. car died again the next day. we spent $$$ towing car home. now we have to find a different mechanic who will help us figure out the real problem so that it can be fixed and we can actually start using it. i'm still needing to rely on my mom's good will in driving out to pick me up from work since dh needs to go to work before i can get home. i do.not.have.time.for.this. when i cross something off my list, it needs to stay OFF!

Re: What does everyone have left on their "to do" list before baby?

phew. I was just avoiding making a list.. but since you asked...

---pack bag for myself and DH
---pack a bag for DD
---finish the girls' room. basically pick up and get sheets in crib and a cover for changing pad
---get the last things off the shopping list
---pick out some baby outfits to take with us
---wash car, vacuum car
---install car seat
---get caught up at work and things in order for while i'm gone
---clean up house and get things better arranged
---attempt to shave/trim myself.. it's getting bad...and everytime I ask DH for help he says he will, but puts it off!

Yay! Sång has a playmate I also need to put up her birth story here I have it on the preemie board on DS. We sort of had things ready but I had no preemie fluff it was fun to buy it though.

Oh and we don't have her car seat yet (Anton Cybex) she is in a car bed.

Re: What does everyone have left on their "to do" list before baby?

I'm so excited - my curtain fabric arrived today! I hope to cross one more thing off my list by the end of the weekend!

We're having company this weekend and next so I probably won't get much done (other than shopping - which both of our guests enjoy, so I can't complain about that!).

Also remembered - I still don't have a "coming home" outfit. I had one in mind that someone gave us at our shower but my mom really wants to buy it so she asked me to pick something out. I'll have to get on that this weekend!

I got one curtain panel done! I was planning on making 4 but I decided to switch to 2 now that I see how wide they are on the windows...now I need to decide what the heck to do with 6 yards of Yellow/White stripe fabric! I wish I could send it back!!

Pack my birth center bag (toiletries are done already) and make DH put the carseat in my car.
