Sand paper feeling skin
My ds took a shower about 30 minutes ago. He used ivory soap for the first time. He just came to me because his face is covered in a sandpaper like rash. I am not sure of the two are related or it is a coincidence. I will say i thought ivory soap was supposed to be great for people with allergies though. Any thought?

Soap itself is extremely drying, I would never use it on my face, or my kiddos. That could be the issue.

Ivory gives me a rash, and I don't have sensitive skin at all.

He is not used to bar soap. We had some left over from a carving he made for cub scouts. He normally uses his brothers baby soap on his face and a kids body wash for the rest of him.
I guess I will just keep an eye on him . I put some of my face moisturizer on him and sent him to bed.

I can't use Ivory. We typically use sheep or goat's milk soap.

Re: Sand paper feeling skin
I've known a few people who are sensitive to Ivory. That sounds like it really dried him out. Hopefully he's better quickly.

Re: Sand paper feeling skin
Probably just dried him out. I wouldn't use any bar soap on my face either- even Ivory. But then ivory actually makes all my skin feel dry so I don't use it at all.

Re: Sand paper feeling skin
My dermatologist I worked for always said, "if you dont like someone you give them a bar of soap and a washrag" its very drying. i cant use anytype of shampoo, bodywash, barsoap on my face without iritation.
