Low heart rate?

Had an ultrasound today, I'm 5 wk 5d. Heart rate was low at 80. I know it's early to even see one but does anyone have positive stories of it speeding up? I don't have a repeat for 2 wks

What did the tech say? I feel like 5 wk 5 d is really early to even pick up a beat. Th heart must have just started beating. It will gradually become stronger. I'm sure it will be more in the average range at your next appointment.

Thanks. The radiologist seemed a little concerned, said it was low but so early that they would just recheck it in 2 weeks. So i guess it's still a little low according to that article but not as bad as I though

Re: Low heart rate?

5w5d is REALLY early to see a hb at all... it had probably just started beating that day! With both my girls, there was only a sac and yolk sac at 5w4d and a beautiful beating heart a week later. Try not to worry... it sounds like your little bean is ahead of the curve to me Congratulations!

I had my first ultrasound at 6 weeks to the day with this baby and her heart rate was only 75. I panicked to say the least but had a repeat ultrasound 8 days later and she was around 160. I'm 20 weeks now and ultrasound shows a healthy baby and heart. my ob said that when the heart first begins beating, its actually the same as the mothers and rapidly increases each day. The baby's heart had probably just begun.

I'm glad I could give you some peace of mind. I had a loss last summer so I was already on edge and those 8 days were torture. I'm praying for the same outcome for you.

The little cutie's heart must've just started beating. Congratulations and good luck!

Mine second LO had a low heart beat. At 5w4d

I was told I would lose him. But turns out, nope! He's in my avi. The one thing info believe happened, is he does have a congenital heart defect. So I think his heart was slow because it was malformed and just started beating.
