What NB dipes for 8.5-9.5 lb. newbies?

With my last baby, I did 1 dozen infant pfs, 4 covers, and sposies while I waited for babe to fit into one size (they actually fit--os--but were very bulky, lol). THis time around, I am trying to buy some here and there to have a bit of a better fit for babe in October. My babes tend to be 12 lbs in 4-5 weeks and 20 lbs by 4 months.

*updated list* for my records, lol

nb/sm

13 AIOs
11 fitteds
4 doz PFs
14 covers

med.

2 doz. PFs
5 AIOs
2 covers

plus: (to share with toddler)--adding 4 more med simplex and 6-4.0's...maybe 3 more organic flip inserts)

15 OS covers
27 OS pockets
2 OS AIOs
19 OS inserts
1 lg AIO

SO, this is what I have: (for NB-MED stage--birth to 3 or 4 months)
2 tots bots tini fit
2 bg xs aio
2 nb grovia aio
1 lil joey
6 nb simplex
3 xs sandys fitteds
6 nb workhorses
1 nb rar cover
1 nb imagine cover
2 sm bummis super lite
2 sm proraps
4 nb dappi
1 sm baby beehind cover
2 sz 1 thirsties duo wrap
1 dozen sm. gerber? flats
1 doz. osocozy preemie pf--these are not going to fit, I fear--TINY!!!
1 doz imagine xs pf
1 doz imagine sm pf
1 doz imagine med pf
1 doz. LL infant PF
1 doz LL capri PF
2 sm sandys fitteds
2 softbums echo with 5 nb inserts
1 sm woolly bottoms cover
2 med bottombumpers
1 med MEAF cover
1 med SWW
3 med simplex 2.0
2 infant snappi
1 boingo set
15 OS covers (flips, econobum, mostly)

I plan on getting:

some more sm covers
4 med simplex aio's
6 more bg 4.0s for later
SO, which covers to get that are small enough to fit at the beginning but last til my OS covers work well? 15-18 lbs?
Ditto on the AIO's?

Ideas?

Sounds like my baby's growth pattern! I'd go with a dual sized cover like Thirsties Duo or Swaddlebees capri!

I have a 4 day old who was 9 lbs 2 oz and then lost about a half pound. She fits really well in the Thirsties Duo size 1 and I like the way they fit over a snappi'd prefold. I think with the rise adjustments, it could fit until OS fits. It fits nicely under the cord in the beginning too.

thanks mamas...do you have any trouble with the cord and the thirsties duo? I really don't want to irritate the cord, which I know the NB sizing is made for...but I really don't want to buy a ton in super sm sizing that won't fit for super long. (though I am having more so I'll just save what I use for the next-after-the-next, lol.)
Also, does the rest look good? If I went with a two-sized type, how many more covers do I need?

Also, I just got a colored proraps and it is way different than the white prorap I have from my last babe--is this a new design or is it the color vs. white or??? I loved how thin the last one was, and flexible. This one is thicker and not as pliable, iykwim...also, it's bigger, though the same size...

No i was really worried about that too and even bought 4 nb covers just in case... my LO weighed 8 lbs 10 oz yesterday down 1/2 lb from birth wt and it fits really well under the umbilical. I can get a pic.

Small BG AIO's would be great if you can find some!

She is 4 days old and 8 lbs 10 oz here. HTH! This is over a snappi'd GMD orange edge btw.

There are two Prorap brands with the same name. I think you might have gotten the "other" one. There is Proraps and Prorap Original.
