Want to lose weight

My daughter is now 15 weeks old. I really want to lose weight but I'm not sure how to go about doing it. It is really important to me to nurse her as with my older daughter the doctors made me feel as I was inadequate so I quit. Anyway, I'm not sure about dieting because I only know how to do it drastically and I don't want to affect the quality of my milk. Next with exercising I have heard a lot of women say that it can dry up your milk. Any help or tips are appriciated, thanks!

Just eat a healthy diet and exercise. Make sure your extra calories needed for bf are not junk. Also water should be your new and only best friend!

A goal of losing 1/2 to 1 1/2 pounds a week is reasonable. Look at a calorie counting program to get an idea as to how much you need to cut calories to lose weight.

Exercising, even fairly strenuously will NOT kill your supply. BUT, exercise will cause you to burn more calories. So, choose to either cut calories or exercise strenuously, but not both or you could lose weight too fast.

Moderate exercise and reduced calories (but not severely limited. Think 100-300 calories less a day) are your best way to lose weight and keep it off. I have found that a diet high in protein (as in protein at every meal and snack, not Atkins or anything) along with drinking water any time I feel hungry keeps me from feeling hungry and still losing weight.

There is a book called, Eat Well Lose Weight While Breastfeeding It talks about how to safely limit calories.

WW allows points for nursing. I joined when DS was about 4-5 months old and never had a supply dip after that. He's 13 months (tomorrow!) and we're still nursing just fine. I'm exercising a lot more now, too. Running 2-3 days a week, cycling 1-2 days.

I exercise and watch what I eat (I do Weight Watchers right now) and I nurse two, plus pump to donate. If you exercise and eat a bit less, you really should not have a problem. I'm almost back to pre-first-pregnancy weight!! Yippeee!

I used my fitness pal (website) to track calories n v. Out. It includes the option for adding bf calories as wll as tailoring it o you weight and activity level. And they even ave carrying baby and pushing stroller in the exercise database. For me, it was learning where my Calories's came from, so I could track and cut.

I went from puberty (eat any thing, gain nothing) to retail work (eat anything, burn it off working) to pregnant (eat extra) and had to learn what was normal. worked to lose the pregnancy weight and maintain my weight since then.

Exercise should be fine as long as you don't overdo it, like everyone said. Stress is not good, so exercise that is really long and intense is probably not a good idea. Interval training is always good. I started exercising at 6 weeks pp with my first, and I'd like to be doing more now at 5 weeks pp, but I no longer have a gym membership, so I've just been walking/babywearing.
