If you used to use Tide Original...

What do you use now?

If you use Tide Ultra, how much do you use?

I miss my Tide so much. I switched to RnG when I ran out, and my diapers were stained like crazy and just didn't seem that clean. They kind of smelled funky when DS peed in then (not really like ammonia...). So I tried Tide Ultra and within days I had ammonia stink. Then I switched back to RnG. I then just started using Laundry Tarts last week and since then I've had 3 MASSIVE pee leaks (on both kids!), so obviously that is out.

Help me PLEASE!!

I use the ultra with no issues at all so far. I use 3-4 tbls depending on how many diapers are in there.

Macy - when you say you use a full scoop, do you actually fill the whole scoop? So like up to Line 4?

Thanks!

I love tide but the diapers don't. I use All free & clear for uniforms. It has no dyes, perfumes, or optical brightened. It's perfect for diapers. If you look up "safe detergents for loth diapers you should be able to find a nice list that contains about every brand and it I'll tell you which is best and why.

I ran out of my beloved Tide Original right after DD PTed, so I haven't actually washed any diapers with the ultra, but at least for my regular laundry, I've discovered I have to use way more than is recommended for my HE machine to get the same results I used to. Kinda scares the daylights out of me for when I actually am washing diapers in July. Not sure how well it's going to work. But basically, seems to me like the "ultra concentrated" claim is code for "not concentrated at all; just more expensive."

I use the original Tide liquid. My Walmart still carries it. Is it not available in most places?

Re: If you used to use Tide Original...

Mayghan - Tide recently changed their formula and it doesn't work as well as it used to.

I'm giving all the diapers a good strip with Dawn right now, and then I'm going to try Tide again, this time with double the amount of detergent...

I look for Original everywhere I go, but I haven't seen it anywhere, including Walmart.

Re: If you used to use Tide Original...

I'll be watching this thread. I have probably 6 loads of tide left, then we need to come up with something else. I'll probably TRY the Tide ultra since we have some on hand, then try a liquid Tide if that isn't working.
