Needing advice about my ultrasound

I also posted this in my due date club but I figured I might find more advice in this section. I had an ultrasound today and they found twins. BUT no heartbeats. They are sharing a gest. sac and are measuring 6wk 6 days and 7wks 0 days. I'm heartbroken. They told me not worry until my appt with OB tomorrow.

I am trying to hold onto hope and looking for advice. I don't want to give up. I am hoping and praying this is wrong. Has anyone ever had an ultrasound they didn't find a heartbeat at around 7 wks? My dates may have been off so it is completely possible I may only be 7 wks. I'm so numb I don't even know how to feel right now.

No advice but I do know it's hard to see heart beats so early. Are you positive about your due dates? I do know that twins that share a gestational sack are at higher risk... Sending hugs and prayers!!

I am holding out hope it is too early. I am not sure of my dates. I was not having a cycle nor was I ovulating monthly but more sporadically. I found out I was pregnant March 26th with a barely visible positive that I only took because I like to check every month if I don't have my period to be safe. This was suppose to be my dating ultrasound. I think I could be only 7. I was thinking I should be 7 wk 6 days but that was a guess so honestly I'm not sure what to think. I am not having any feelings or signs of a m/c yet.

It could be hard for them to see it. They are really small at thy age! The earliest ultrasounds I've had have been around 8 weeks. I know how hard it is to stay calm. I've had a mc myself and it's not easy mama. I was a mess waiting for my next apt.(I was 12 weeks along so not early). I'll be praying that everything is fine but the babies were just in a funny position!

I'm hoping so! I had a m/c in sept so I was extra paranoid about this happening again. I'm hoping they are wrong. The tech who did the ultrasound didn't even find the other baby until she called someone in to confirm things for her about there being no heartbeat. The person that came in pointed it out and found the other baby but also no heartbeats.

I had one at 6w5d and they didn't see a heartbeat. At 8w4d I went back and they did see one...although it was faint. Praying for you right now!

Re: Needing advice about my ultrasound

At my first U/S at 6 weeks 3 days to check for eptopic since I was having horrible back pain the OB could just barely find a heartbeat. It would register for just a couple beats and then be gone again. I new exactly when we concieved and the dates matched

As hard as it is to not worry please try not too. Even at 8 weeks for the next U/S I had it was hard to pick up everything.

Re: Needing advice about my ultrasound

Was it an abdominal u/s or a transvaginal (inside)? That makes a HUGE difference at this stage.

ID twins can be hard to detect if one is on top of the other. My ID twins were very hard to see both. It took 2 u/s, 1 MW, 1 u/s tech and a radiologist to confirm them. Unfortunately, I did lose one. I'm not telling you that to scare you at all. Only adding that because I don't want you to think I had ID twins. Both of my sets are frats and I'm 15wks with the surviving ID twin.

I'll be praying for you! Please let us know what the OB says.

They did a trans vaginal and a regular as well. That is why I am so nervous. I know the trans ultrasound is going to be pretty accurate. I am just going to pray a lot. Thank you for your honesty in telling me what happened with your pregnancy... I know this might not end the way I like but hearing that you also have an ID twin that survived gives me a little hope as well. I was told today that the one probably passed because the other did since they were sharing a sac. I am hoping and praying both are still hear if not one.
