I have an itty bitty too. Born at 41.5 weeks at 5 lbs 13 oz. She was perfectly healthy, just really tiny. I wonder how small she would've been if she was actually a preemie!

She's 12 months now, and people usually think she's 6/7 months. But the doctor isn't concerned. Adults come in all shapes and sizes, and so do babies

Asia perhaps, eastern europe? ? Seriously - , presumably the WHO chart is not a 'healthy white kid chart', it's a global average of some kind? I've no idea, but I know that the WHO doesn't issue different charts by ethnicity. I wonder why not actually?

We were in the 3% for my DD2 until her 2 year appt. She has now jumped up to the 10% - woohoo!!

People always think she is younger. They are amazed at all the things she does. She was my "least preemie" of all 3 of mine. My older two are monsters now.

My sister is a pediatrician and I guess the current research points to in the first two years - growth (size) has the most to do with uterine health (like did you have a good placenta/blood flow). Then after 2 years - genetics and environment really kick in. Apparently I do not have good placentas. LOL

Mine was 6lbs 6oz at birth and not sure at 6 mos but I do know she was bigger but still I think your DD is a good size. I can't believe the preemie comments. Like does it really matter? Geez!

Totally agree. My middle dd was three weeks late and 8pounds 6oz at birth. Now she's almost nine and is barely 45 pounds with clothes on. She is just little.

She's adorable. My DD was 6 lbs even at birth, and now at 3 months is 9lbs 14 oz. I am not concerned. She is happy and developing perfectly!

I put a pair of 'newborn' pants on my 22 month old today. They fit him like knee length leggings.

I have a little guy and run in to that myself. I was told he should triople his birth weight by a year....or come close to it. He's 19 months now and in the 10th percentile. It sucks just a little more cause he's a boy and boys aren't supposed to be petite!
