Who nags & threatens about these practices? I haven't come across anyone who does this.

As I said before, if the same type of thread was started, written in the same way, about more mainstream parenting choices, I highly doubt it would fly very long.
Most of the things being made fun of are things I do!! As I was reading and dying with laughter I'm also thinking "she's totally talking about me?!" But I still get the humor in it. And everyone that commented were pretty funny too!

Why ALL Parents Are Better Than You

My favorite parts:

"I'm going to save you some wondering: They are. Other parents are better. They are better than you in all ways. They are better at disciplining their kids, motivating their kids, and keeping their kids out of harm's way. Their children will have more friends in school, lead more fulfilling lives, and never need therapy. Their kids will rule. And it will all be because other parents were much better parents than you can ever hope to be. Sorry."

"Chances are that unless you are just really a complete jerk across several categories on a Venn diagram of types of jerks, your messed-up type of parenting is mediocre enough for your messed-up type of kid. Even messed-up, you know more than you think you do. Maybe. Still, you'll never be as good as Dr. Spock."
I loved this! Everyone should just lighten up :-)

Re: How to be a good parent

Seriously, this was the best thread ever until people started complaining. I didn't read anything that sounded actually mean, and most of it was very funny. Laugh at yourself, it's okay.

I didn't think this thread was mean at all, just funny. I think we all need a reminder sometimes to take things less seriously and stop worrying/guilting so much.

before you were a parent you knew nothing.

now that you're a parent, it's best if you just smile and nod at everything. Because you still know nothing and if you think you do, you're probably just really judgemental.

If you do natural remedies for ear infections you are going to end up with a child with hearing loss.
If you do antibiotics for ear infections you are ill-informed and are destroying your child's immune system.
