yeah, that's the thing. I would lose myself if I parented the way that works best for some people's families. And I know of many people who could never parent the way I do.

it'd be nice if there was a single way that worked for everyone, but there's just not. Although, it appears that in some other countries, there is. But, here in the ol' melting pot, we just can't agree enough for that.

Re: How to be a good parent

-You must not let any of your children get overweight, because then you are a lazy, overindulgent modern parent. HOWEVER,
-You must not allow your kids to roam around the neighborhood on their bikes (the way kids used to keep fit), because that's irresponsible.
-You also must not put them in too many sports, because then you're an overscheduling helicopter parent.

Re: How to be a good parent

What a sad commentary on DS that the OP had to add that final disclaimer. Would have been much wittier without it!

What do you mean, send them to school? You absolutely must homeschool your children, or the "mainstream" school system will undo everything you have done in raising your perfect children.

If you homeschool your children will be socially inept. If you send them to public school they'll be delinquents. You must send them to a private school where the students and teachers are hand selected by you.
