Re: Would you let your 3yo SON....

I wouldn't because of the age, not because he's a boy. I have no problems with boys having their ears pierced. I also wouldn't let my daughter (if we ever have one) get hers pierced at 3. I want my kids to wait until they can make a decision, and really know what it is. I will also take my kids to a tattoo parlor to get it done.

No. But I wouldn't let a 3 yo girl get her ears pierced either.

Re: Would you let your 3yo SON....

Nope, but that's because in my house, you don't get your ears pierced until you can properly care for them yourself, which for us is pre-teen/teen years (for DD1 it was 13th birthday.) Partly because I don't want to mess with swabbing and twisting and so on, when it's a fight just to fix hair sometimes at that age. And partly because myself and DD1 actually both can't even wear earrings now, our piercings react pretty strongly. I don't want to mess with a preschooler with an infected piercing.

Its more of the age thing with me as well. We arent getting the girls ears done b/c its their body and when they want to alter it and are old enough to care for it *then* we will get their ears peirced. However I realize not all families share that believe so if your girls got theirs done then I would follow the same guidlines-whatever those were with your girls-with my son as well.

Swagbucks. Search. Earn. Redeem. Yep, it's that simple (I've earned $70 in gift cards and counting!).

I would. My 5 yo DD just now decided that she wants her ears pierced (we wanted to make sure that she decided to have it done herself) but my 4 yo DS has actually been asking for longer than she has . We too have tattoos and piercings and my DH has his ear pierced a few times so of course he wants to be just like dad. We talked about it and decided that we are ok with it so he's going to get one ear done when his sister gets hers done. Just waiting on our piercer friend to get the jewelry we ordered.

Re: Would you let your 3yo SON....

Due to age, no. I am not wild about guys having earrings, so I don't know if I would okay my son having his ears or ear pierced at a later age. I don't see it as a girl thing, I just don't particularly care for the look -- never have.

Now, if I were you, and obviously didn't have a problem with things that are typically seen as girly, and didn't have a problem with younger children having piercings, I would let him do it.

I would allow my son's to get their ears pierced, but not at 3 years old (and that goes for a daughter too). Any child can get theirs pierced but when they are old enough to understand what that means and care for them.

Nope I would not. He can get them done when he is 18 and moves out on his own.
