Do your boys have vastly different exploration/body awareness behaviors? My oldest (5) has always been very curious about his penis, and from about 6 months or so would tug and play with it every opportunity he had. Now that he understands socially appropriate time/place standards, he doesn't do it at inappropriate times but is still very aware of it in private, and he has always had (and still has) nocturnal erections and often others throughout the day too (i.e. Almost every time he urinates). My younger son (almost 3) is the complete opposite - almost never has erections, and has only once (that we have seen) ever tugged/pulled on his penis. Both of my boys were out of diapers by 17 months (we did elimination communication) so they have had plenty of opportunity to explore their bodies. I am not worried about either of them (they all do their own thing in their own time) but DH and I are amazed at the stark contrast between the two of them, and are wondering if anyone else had two (or more) boys who are the same way. We know that as their foreskin separates boys tend to pull/tug and DS1 did retract super early around age 3, but his awareness just seems so much more advanced than DS2's.

Yes, i have 4 intact boys and all were different. One has been obsessed, one hasn't really cared, and the other two were moderately interested lol.

ds2 is way more into playing with his than his older brother. He is starting to stop playing with his penis but for a while (Oct-March) it was all the time btw he is 7.

Oh yeah same as you. DS1'smore interested than DS2. And the same things as u say, I've noticed an erect penis in DS2 about 2/3 times in all, but DS1...I can say everytime he pees.

But of late we've noticed DS2 tugging at his thing and enjoying!

They both have gone through phases where they played or touched their penis a lot, and other times they don't care for it much.

My youngest is only 10.5 months, so I can't contribute too much. But our 3 year old was obsessed from the moment he found "it." The youngest could take it or leave it it seems.
