Deer tick repellant

Deer ticks have hit our area hard. My mom just finished a nasty round of antibiotics for Lyme's and a child at DD's preschool had one embedded in his scalp that they missed in tick checks until he was crying that his head hurt and there was a bump. What are your go to safe(r) repellants for ticks, especially deer ticks?

Re: Deer tick repellant

If CJs doesn't work, try Purple Prairie "Bug Stuff"......we have the bug stuff lotion and it works really well! I am not sure exactly how effective it is with ticks (it doesn't say that it repels ticks in particular), but my girls have used it when we have been in Western Wisconsin, and they stay tick and mosquito free. My girls like the lotion because they freak out when I try to spray them with anything

The people at Purple Prairie are really nice to work with, and they are located right in Minnesota
