*sigh* tell me what to do...
DD is 36 lbs and currently has a Britax Boulevard, so 4 lbs to go on the rear facing limit. Ideally, I'd like to keep her rear facing for at least a couple more years...she is only 12 months. The problem is that she still seems to be growing like crazy, so I have no idea if she'll fly right past 45 lbs. She just learned to crawl/cruise last month so I'm sure the chunk will start to thin out, but she still seems to be shooting up like a weed. I have no idea if it's worth it to buy the Radian to get a few more pounds out of it... obviously my child's safety is worth $250, but it's only 5 more pounds. What would you do?

I think you should get a Radian. She is entirely too young to FF and I promise her weight will slow down a lot. DD was 20lbs at a year and just now at 3.5 she is 32lbs.

Okay, just needed to hear it from someone else I guess! It's definitely a no brainer.... Even if she's a mutant baby and keeps growing like crazy, it will be worth it even if it only buys us a little more time!

Re: *sigh* tell me what to do...
My nephew was 30 pounds at 12 months, but only 40 pounds when he turned 4. He went from a butterball to a string bean, and is still a string bean now at 24 years. She will slow down!!

Yes, that's her
Thanks everyone! Now on to another question--how do you look for good deals on these things? Stalk certain sites? |

Re: *sigh* tell me what to do...
DS was 30-35lbs for like a year and a half and then suddenly hit the limit on his radian a month ago at almost 4.5

Re: *sigh* tell me what to do...
I wouldn't buy a radian just yet. Wait and see how long it takes her to gain the next 4 pounds.
I think the Peg Perego convertible also has a 45# RF weight limit (and also the Foonf but it is $$$), if you want non-radian options to consider. |
