Okkk. So now that I've tried some dipes lets see.
My baby is 7 ish pounds. The lil joeys fit but seem bulky and the one he has worn he leaked. Hope that's not a trend. I thought I wasnt gonna like the nana bottoms. They were just gonna be my back up diapers. But omg. That is my favorite right now and i only have 3. My made by me fitted ones are good but I forget how bulky fitters and covers are on itty bitty babies. Lol. He is on a groves newborn right now. Fit is pretty good. Not as bulky as lil Joey. Not as slim as nana bottoms

Re: What is fitting?

the smalls (green mountain prefolds, thirsties size 1, etc) i have are too big for our baby (about 7 lbs). i didn't get newborn size cloth using 7th gen disposables until he's a little bigger

Re: What is fitting?

The first diaper we used was a Lil' Joey. Fit like a dream! If fact the pediatric nurse we had right after delivery was so impressed! And our nurse was a man! You should have seen how cool he thought the diaper was. He even wanted to see the other ones we had and then went to go get some other nurses to show. One of those nurses used cloth and he wanted her to see since he knew she would like them. It was so funny! All the nurses who saw the diapers just loved them. It was so fun using cloth in the hospital!

Swaddlebees newborn fit really well too. Bumgenius xs is fitting okay, but I'm liking snaps better. Velcro seems so stiff. Disliking prefold and covers. They seem way to big and bulky. Fuzzibunz are fitting nicely, but there is a little bit of leg gap in the snap version. But that might just be user error, since DH put it on and he tends to put them on looser than I do. The velcro fuzzibunz actually fit very nice.

I'm not worrying about the diapers fitting under the cord. Some of them do fit under the cord, but others I just fasten loosely and let it cover the cord. The cord is drying up nicely and they pee such little amounts in the first few days, that the diaper isn't getting the cord wet at all. Once she starts peeing more I may have to try to make it go under, but for now, it works.

I'll try to get pictures up later.
