This is so me too. My dd4 is 5 days and i haven't had a break from her since she was born. She nurses constantly and must be held. She won't sleep except on me or next to me in bed. I have a 22 month old and three other kids.

It's very frustrating and not fair to my toddler either. I can wear the baby but my dd deserves some one on one time too. We are considering switching to bottles and pumping so others can feed her and then maybe she will let others hold her.

Re: Newborn sleeping help

this is a very short time in a new baby's life....even the 1st 6 wks or so can be like this. It is normal and to establish a good supply, it is important as well. They spent 9 mo attached inside, so they need time to adjust to the outside. Even toddlers can understand and be flexible (my 1st 2 are 14 mo apart). At the age of under a week, your milk could still be working on coming in and it can take up to 1-2 wks to have it transition over fully from colostrum. Even nursing 24/7, my milk never comes in until day 5.
