Baby's 1st/coming home outfits

The boys came home in these outfits and our new little one will as well. You can only see the blanket and hat in most of these photos but the sleeper/romper with socks match.

Probably just depends on what the weather is like at the time.

I was gifted SO many hats at our baby shower that there could be nuclear winter and these babies would still be toasty warm.

My grandma always said that babies need a hat regardless of weather for the first 2-3 months.

eh, I think I only use them the 1st day or 2 at most....and if we go to to a cold store in the beginning (if summer). In winter, maybe a bit longer, but my kids always have a mop of black hair

The first Sunday we took the baby to church, my granny insisted that I put a diaper on the baby's head. She said they should never go without a hat. DD had more hair than I did at the time. Funniest thing, ever!

I never thought about a first outfit...hmm...time to pick something out of the closet. My bag is already full, though! With our first, they used the long sleeve shirt as the top & used another one for the bottom. I thought it was pretty funny & just changed her after they finally left us alone.

Hmmm. Not sure since baby will be delivered at home. I bought a delicious Plumknits cashmere set, but it will surely be too warm...
I also have some Plumknits sleep sacks coming my way - maybe one of those!

Made the newborn soaker last night and it is HUGE...DH even commented that it looked way too big. I put the newborn diaper on top of it and the soaker is GIGANTIC in comparison so now I am worried that it will be way too big and not fit at all.

Here is the soaker I finished last night and then a newborn diaper(DD Red pattern). The diaper isn't the coming home diaper but it is the same size...does this soaker not look WAY too big for a newborn?





I think I need some different measurements and a redo on this or something.

Is that the wigglebunz soaker? If it is, I'd cut down the waist ribbing a bit, I think I only chain 7 before starting the waistband and then cut the hips and rise down by 1 or 2 inches and you should be pretty good to go!

Yep, wigglebunz. I will do that....thinking a rise of 12.5 and hips of 13...should be better size. Do you make the waist smaller too? It says 12 and I was thinking doing 9 or 10...
