Re: Best pail & best pail liner?
I use basic trash pails and a diaperrite pail liner. I have quite a few liners (PW, Whamies, Grovia) and my favorite by far is the DiaperRite.

Re: Best pail & best pail liner?
Thirsties pail liner. It's huge and super quality!! Because it has a drawstring you can tighten around any regular kitchen size trash pail. I got one at Target with a lid.

Re: Best pail & best pail liner?
I'm new to cloth and plan to start with DS due in August. I*was just thinking about looking into the pail and liner issue so I am glad to see this thread.
Maybe this is a silly question but can't I just use a trash bag and kitchen sized garbage can with a lid?* I bought pockets so I am imagining rinsing out the poo, removing the insert and tossing everything into the pail. Then on wash day, emptying the trash bag into the wash and tossing the bag. Do the pails make the area smelly? I plan on keeping mine in the bathroom but it's just off the kitchen and I want to avoid a super stink. Any ideas or suggestions are much appreciated. Thanks!! |

Re: Best pail & best pail liner?
I guess the idea of a washable pail liner is you aren't throwing away garbage bags just like you aren't throwing away sposies
When you go to wash your dirty pail full of diapers you just throw the whole thing in the (pail liner and all) in the washing machine. Of course turn it inside out as you are throwing it in. I wash every other day so I'm not sure about stink. We don't really have it. Quote:

Re: Best pail & best pail liner?
I did this for a week or two when I was just starting cloth and throwing away trash bags was really wasteful. I already go through a trash bag every 2-3 days and I didn't want to double that with a diaper pail as well. I am using a 13 gallon Sterilite step can that we already had and a nylon jumbo laundry bag that I got at Wal-Mart for $4. It goes in the wash with the diapers.

Re: Best pail & best pail liner?
We use a regular kitchen trashcan with a flip top lid and rotate between a planet wise and grovia liner. I wash every 2-3 days and don't have any problems.

My favorite pail liners are the KangaCare/rumparooz ones! I use them in my stainless steel step can, and they fit great. I love that I have the option of using the drawstring closure when needed too.

I have a small can from target also, but I gave up up on liners, the ones I bought are huge and didn't really work. So now I don't use anything, I just take the whole can downstairs and dump it it the washer. I haven't had a problem with the can getting stinky, I just rinse it out every do often. Am I missing something?

Re: Best pail & best pail liner?
Glad to see this post. I was planning to use a plastic trash can as the pail, but have been trying to decide what liner to buy. Looks like lots of people like the diaperite liners.
