I love the tin. I was trying to think of what I called it if I googled it. Our first house the people before us had put that on the kitchen ceiling. I LOVED that house. They had also mod podged old recipe cards as the backsplash. :sigh:
Parents coming today, DH totally was a time suck yesterday. He got the yard done, I got a bathroom clean and a living room too. And that is it other than eating pizza and soccer practice.

The counter is very busy. I know you can't really see it in the photos, but in person it is five colors and lots of veins and stuff. So a patterned backsplash would be like wearing plaid with another plaid. It needs to be a simple, uniformly colored, very little design kind of backsplash. For the most part, tin tiles are NOT that, LOL. I'm looking for the little black dress kind of backsplash, not a feature backsplash.

The recipe card backsplash sounds awesome. I want to do a touch up on out kitchen. The cabinets and wall are ugly and a fresh coat of paint and a new layer of laminate flooring would go a long way. Our cabinets are that lovely orange oak so I'd paint those as well to update. I think a warm cream color with wine, olive, and mustard accents would look good and blend with the house. If I could add one more thing beyond that, I would put a pass through opening in the wall between my kitchen and dining room.

Morning all Cheryl, maybe you can try online to find something. Dont be afraid of the internet - get in touch with large dealers and ask them to send you samples! Its your money and your house afterall, you shouldnt settle!

Zoo and pioneer day?! Jeeze where is my field trip!

Cheryl I want to see pics with the bonnet too I hope the sub takes them!

I am stuck in chancery court right now waiting to read a cause from 1850... Suuuper annoying. Meeting the wannabe crew chief at 11:30.

At Dali's well check up the doctor said she had a bit of torticollis... I had no idea wth this was. Now we are doing neck stretches at every diaper change - if it doesnt clear up by 6 months she will have to do physical therapy.

Re: It is a basic Thursday

Totally unrelated to anything, but I had to share the awesome maternity shirt my best friend sent me:

ETA: I didn't think about the fact that the writing would show up backwards since I took the picture in the mirror. It's a ball of yarn and underneath it says "wip" (work in progress). Nerdy knitting humor in a soft T-shirt, how perfect is that?
