converting pockets to aio?

I am thinking of doing the snap idea but to the outside--adding 1 snap to a 3-layer bamboo insert & a snap to the top of the microsuede & snapping in the insert (like a Bottombumper. That way the pocket is still accessible if I need to add absorbency. I was thinking of buying snap pliers but I'm wondering if I shouldn't just send them to a WAHM to do for me. Undecided still.

I mostly have microfiber inserts and I heard those shouldn't be against the skin, right? I might try turning the dipe inside out, sewing down the insert, and leaving the pocket opening jic.

i would say for ease, sew a layer to the top of the insert, like microfleece or bamboo thats safe for contact on the skin, add a snap to the front and back and them you could snap the insert to the top layer of your dipe. if you add the snap to the insert first then sew the skin safe layer on top you'd be covering the snap caps so they aren't touching the baby's skin. i sewed a couple dipes in an AIO/Pocket style so the insert was attatched at the back but still needed to be stuffed inside the diaper so there was still stuffing involved which I also hate. Unless your willing to take the diaper apart a bit i wouldn't try to sew the insert all the way on the inner layer inside, I bet it would be hard to get it to cooperate in a sewing machine without bunching up.
