Re: Question about 8mo old bfing....
DD went through a nursing strike around 8-9 months and I cut out all solids completely. I was fully prepared for her to be a basket case but she just decided to go back to nursing instead, like she didn't even care. I slowly added in 1 meal a day after a week or so, then another meal a day, etc...just watched her cues and made sure she was nursing first before eating solids. I didn't start bothering with making sure she was eating regular meals until 11-12 months or so.

Re: Question about 8mo old bfing....
As for meals I think a morning cereal and dinner time is what we did around this age... 8 months can be tricky as they are interested in everything going on around them! Don't worry and keep offering
they go through stages.. my youngest would nurse a lot at night and bedtime approaching the one year mark and he BF till 3 and a half!

Re: Question about 8mo old bfing....
At that age, I would offer at most a 1/4 of an apple, a couple of sugar snap peas, a tbs of frozen peas or a few slices of chicken as a meal (each thing, not all of them together!) (we do baby led weaning). Total, our baby might have consumed a tbs of food at each meal. We did offer solids at every typical meal (whenever we all sat to eat), but always nursed first and offered again after. And while you may feel ridiculous, offer, offer, offer. If you see your baby losing interest in a toy, offer to nurse. Lost interest in food, offer to nurse... etc. Since it might be a nursing strike, don't put off a nursing session for any reason. Just keep offering and it should get better.

My youngest ds went thru a nursing strike at 8 months. It lasted two weeks and I completely it off all solids and just kept offering the breast and one day he just wet back to normal. Hang in there mama!
Btw, my 9 month old dd isn't having regular meals yet. She gets bites here and there and sometimes a few pieces on her tray but not much or at regular times.

Re: Question about 8mo old bfing....
Spend lots of skin to skin time with him...most babies even older ones need to "re-connect" with mama sometimes, especially if your schedule has been a little hectic lately. Don't give up, he will get back on trick. Also sounds like a lot of "solids" to me...this should just be a supplement so he gets used to eating food at 8 months not the main part of his nutrition.
