Buying used books

Is there a site you wonderful Mamas know about where you can buy used homeschooling books?

And another question.... when you do buy used homeschooling books, would you consider buying something that has been completed 25%, 50%, 75%, 100% of the way through?

I also shop here on DS some. I personally will not buy consumables that have already had more than a page or two completed, obviously I have no way of knowing how much of a text book has been read nor do I care. I have some text books that are rather rough looking and I don't mind, they work just as well.

ETA: I do the vast majority of my second had shopping at either Half Price Books or Thrift Stores and have done very well there.

I have bought from ebay but I always ask specifically if they have writing, I do not buy if they have writing in them

I've bought from http://www.homeschoolclassifieds.com/ and http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Used_H...ng_Curriculum/ and always get great deals. If I'm buying a workbook and there are a few pages that I can just erase I wouldn't mind buying it but not if most of it is filled in already

I only buy books that have not been completed at all, but that's just me. If it was a super cheap deal, though, and it was only a few pages, I'd definitely consider.
I love www.homeschoolclassifieds.com, www.welltrainedmind.com, and www.vegsource.com. They are all very active. Another good one is www.homeschoolreviews.com, though it's not as active. Of course, diaperswappers is another good place!

I've bought here and also from www.homeschoolclassifieds.com as others have mentioned. And, believe it or not, I've gotten some really good deals on www.amazon.com for some used items too. I have also gone to thrift stores and used book sales at our local co-ops.

I've only ever bought one partially completed consumable and haven't even used it yet. I'm not eager to do all that erasing so probably wouldn't do it again. But, I got a REALLY good deal on it!
