What size food processor do you have?

Help Mamas! I can't decide what size food processor to get. What size do you use and do you like it? I had a giant 14 cup I got for Christmas a couple years ago and it died recently. I think 14 cups was a tad big for us. DH got me a nice kitchenaid 7 cup FP for mothers day but I think 7 cups might be a bit small. I think 10-12 cups would probably be perfect. The two things I think I need a full size for is pureeing soups, or making mashed cauliflower... so I need a head of cauliflower (cut up) to fit in it. DH is eating Paleo and I find that I am needing a FP more and more. After reading so many reviews I have lots of new ways I want to try and use it. I am hoping to buy kitchenaid or cuisinart but they're pretty pricey. If someone here uses a less expensive brand and you are happy with it, please let me know!

Re: What size food processor do you have?

If you're using it primarily for pureeing soups and mashing cauliflower, have you thought about a hand blender instead? I have a 10-cup food processor that I use primarily for making pesto and hummus, but for soups, I find it much less messy to just blend in a pot than transfer it to the food processor, plus less dishes is less clean up.

I don't have a food processor, but I do love my Vitamix!

I think I have a 12 cup Cuisinart. I really like it, but I think there's a nice Kitchen Aid that's comparable in size that comes with a smaller chopper basket insert. That would be nice .

I also have the 12 c cuisenart but with the extra 3 c insert. I use the 3 c a lot more but it is nice to have the 12 c for dough (cookie, pie, pizza, pasta). However, I agree with the pp-gotta love an immersion blender! I have a crappy Betty Crocker one and use the heck out of it forded veggies, soups, and sauces!

I have the 14 cup Cuisinart with the 11 cup and 4 1/2 cup nesting bowls. I love it because I can pick the size I need!

Re: What size food processor do you have?

I have a 7 cup cuisinart and it's too small for soup. I would like to have an 11 cup one.
But many of my recipes fit just fine.
I mainly use it for making mayonnaise.
