Isnt it just vitamin water essentially? I drank it several times with no problem, but honestly never looked at what was in it...

I just wasn't sure how much of the extra vitamins were passed through breast milk. The emergen-c website says to consult a dr. Another website says not to take it bc the baby will get too much vitamin c. But it wasn't the manufacturer's site so I don't know how much I believe...

Re: Emergen-C while nursing
Vitamin C is processed by the kidneys and overdose of vitamin C generally starts with green urine. If you stop taking it before you get diarrhea, chances are, your baby would be fine. Remember, only a portion of vitamin C passes into breastmilk, so even if you were to overdose, only a small amount of that would pass to your baby.

Re: Emergen-C while nursing
I took it when I had a case of mastitis (recommended 3x a day to help) and LO was just fine - think it helped me out quite a bit too! However, when I was sick with a winter flu, we bought a different version Emergen-C Immune + (green pack?)... LO had really bad frothy poops with it, switched back to normal Emergen-C.
