Mine were bigger at birth (9lb12oz and 8lb11oz), and still gained atleast a pound a week for the first couple months. They thinned up once they were mobile, though. Sometimes I wish I had Itty bitties, but honestly yds 8lb11oz felt so fragile compared to my ods. I think I might be scared of having a tiny baby, lol.

Yeah with my daughter I had a thyroid issue around 5 months pp and she was probably 23 pounds at least, and I could hardly carry her! People kept asking me if she was growing or I was shrinking, and I had to say, "both!"

All my babies were big. At least I THOUGHT the first two were big (8.12 and 8.6) until I had my youngest who was a whopping 10lbs 14oz! Yep, and she is still pretty big now. She will be 3 next month and is 36 pounds. So yeah, we completely skipped the newborn stage.

Re: Parents of giant babies, please commiserate with me..

My oldest was 9 pounds. She wore newborn clothes for about two weeks. At age 6, she now falls right in the 50th percentile for height/weight.

DS was 8lb, 2oz. For whatever reason, he moved down to the skinny side, and no matter how much he eats, he was in the 5th percentile in weight by age 1, and has stayed there. He never stops moving!

The baby was 10 pounds, 7 ounces at birth, at 4 months she's almost 20 pounds and in 9 month clothing. I'm getting ready to list all of her adorable newborn clothes that she maybe got to wear once (if that) on FSOT. I wish I had known I was going to be birthing a toddler!

OMG I was just talking about this at work today. DS2 was born at 7lbs 2oz and at 6 weeks 3 days he was 12lbs even! His pedi averaged it out to 2 1/2 oz per day - and then he said "BIG babies gain only 2 oz per day on average!" he's a monster!

yeah, I think the word our doctor used in regards to his growth was "astronomical". lol.

My daughter did the same thing, but I didn't notice as much because I never took her to the doctor, lol. This time he has medicare for a year, so I'm taking him in just because I can do it for free, and mainly for curiosity's sake!

Sounds like our two are tracking right along together!

Oh, and neither of them are tall. Both are 50% for height and head circumference.

He isn't big, just really, really tall. I am hoping for a tiny baby this time around!
This, except for 9 pounds at birth. At 8 months he was in 2T. At 18 months he's in 3T.
