Your kids' favorite outside toys

I'm hoping to get a few toys for our back yard so that DS can get some exercise and play at home without us trekking out to the park all the time. We have a tricycle, but our street is too sloped for him to ride here. We have a water table, which is great. But I'm looking for more ideas... (we don't have room for a play structure, sadly)

DS is 3.5 years old

what are your kids' favorite outdoor toys that really get them moving? It gets hot out here, well into the 90's and 100's, so warm weather toys work well for the summer...

Sprinklers are a huge hit here...and water balloons. I could go through 500 of them a day and my kids would STILL be entertained!

We have several bigger vehicles (a tractor and 2 old trucks that used to be RC cars) and my boys will run all over the yard with those.

I went to Salvation Army and picked up some old metal bowls and spoons that my kids use to "cook".

sprinkler/kiddie pool/slip n slide (or as DH calls it, the slip n bleed, although none of our kids have hurt themselves yet ), trampoline, sandbox. We have a little solid one piece teeter totter type thing that they love that's got a rounded bottom on it, I think I paid $15 or $20 for it at garden ridge. Do you have any trees? Maybe a tire swing? You could always build a basic A-frame and just attach one or two outside toys vs. buying/building a huge swingset/play structure.

Swing set - we have the $100 metal one which is great for little ones but we will upgrade in a year or two or three

Little Tykes Trampoline - love love love this. Love the padding on the poles and the mesh sides. Low enough for little ones to get on/off.

Any type of little pool or water play area - we got some from Target clearance.

My son also loves to jump in my garden boxes but we are putting a stop to it now that we are planting.

My girl mostly loves the dandelions now, but other than that she is enjoying her bubbles.

The sandbox is the big hit right now, along with the Cozy Coupe (my 16mo likes to climb in and out).

Re: Your kids' favorite outside toys

we have a sloped back yard but it has a sidewalk at the bottom, so we have a bike and ride-on ATV. we also have a teeny slide (he is almost 2), a lacrosse goal (bc of the big kids), a teeny kiddie pool, TONS of balls, some action figures and trucks, a push mower, a scooter, bubbles and chalk. Every day he plays lacrosse and rides one of the riding things. The other things are dependent on mood.

Sidewalk chalk, a Kick Scooter, a shovel that she digs in garden soil with and gardening gloves so she can touch critters she finds there (she's squeamish!), a kiddie pool, and an underbed storage box filled with sand in lieu of a sandbox. We also have a bubble blower from Target that I use to blow bubbles for her to chase. We also kick a soccer ball around on the driveway every now and then.
