Ebay Newbies

drive me nuts! They always take forever to pay, and I usually have to open an unpaid item case for them to pay. It is ALWAYS those under 40 feedbacks. I have never had an issue with someone over 40 feedback. Seriously considering setting the buyer requirements to nobody under 40 feedbacks. I want to put a little blurb in my listings like "New buyers, please be advised that ebay requires payment within 4 days", but don't want to be rude, haha.

That would make me sad. I very occasionally purchase from ebay so I don't have a lot of feedback. I ALWAYS pay immediately. I don't see a reason not to. The sooner you pay the sooner you get the item. Why pay attention to the end of an auction so you win, then go away before you pay? I don't get why anyone would do that?

Or why make a best offer and when the seller accepts it immediately, why don't you pay it immediately? Gah!

I am having the same problem I wish they would realize that ebay charges us when something sells. When they don't pay it takes us so long to get that money back..

oops, I put pay within two days of auction ending! I don't really consider it rude as I don't think you should bid if you don't have the pp. I see others saying pay within 24hrs and also no bidders under 30 feedback etc.

I do think I'm lenient as I had one young girl bid from canada and I had to redo the whole shipping etc. She didn't see the "shipping in US or contact before bidding". I didn't mind working with her as she was new and was trying to learn the ropes and good with communication.

A few weeks ago I had a person take a week to pay and said she was having a problem getting funds from her bank into pp. I do know it takes a few days, but I think she was pushing it a little. I know other sellers would have given her negative feedback and marked her as a non-payer before then.


I'm kinda learning the ropes myself so try to be patient and have very rarely had a problem or even sent an invoice.

I wish we could set a minimum I don't think you can, I tried. If you figure it out, let me know! And you can't write "Don't bid unless you intend to pay" I used to include that but ebay doesn't allow it any more. Some BS about discouraging bidding is not allowed.

You can! When you are creating a listing it's "buyer requirements". You have to actually click on it to change it. It's the last thing, under "what you'd like buyers to know". I've done it before, but not on a regular basis.

Don't you just HATE how you can't leave negative feedback for buyers? I think that is simply the stupidest rule ever!!!

So sometimes I click on a nonpaying buyer's feedback and see lots of recent positive feedbacks with NEGATIVE comments from sellers about how this person never pays. That just blows.. that the only way a seller can leave a negative comment in a person's feedback is to leave positive feedback and then the detailed comment.

Ridiculous.

I completely agree. Also, ebay has NO protection for sellers and feedback either. I had a guy leave me negative and said "NO BOX!", well the listing said in the details adn description "NEW WITHOUT BOX". I called ebay and they wouldn't do anything about it. They said "it's his opinion". Dude ended up changing it when I pointed out to READ the listing and said he could return for a full refund. Well, he changed it to positive but didnt return the sheos lol

I know you can do a non-payer thing.
