Re: Elimination Diet Support Thread!
Well, just to give an update...
After some reflection of my diet over the past 7 weeks, I realized that my little guy has had a rash the entire time I have been taking fenugreek, which overlaps with my staring to eat cashews. So hubby and I are thinking one of those is the culprit. To be on the safe side though, I decided to continue to eliminate dairy from my diet. I have been fenugreek, nuts, and dairy free for about 5 days and my little guy's rash has cleared about 75%. We never had problems with his poop or spit-up. It's just been a battle with this body rash. After using ointments that were prescribed by the 'experts' and hearing various mis-diagnosis and being told that my diet has NO implication for my LO (that dr. was a total quack), nothing helped. Now that I have eliminated fenugreek, nuts, and dairy, I am seeing some real change in his skin. It's becoming smooth again and he is sleeping better b/c he's not itching. (Thank you, Jesus. I hated seeing him uncomfortable and feeling helpless). I had added wheat to my diet again b/c I have been eating lactation cookies with flour and it doesn't seem to be problematic. I'm still praying and taking it easy. I'll keep you all posted. |

Re: Elimination Diet Support Thread!
ahhhh, I'm about to embark on an ED. Not a TED yet. dd (4mo) has eczema all over her legs. I'm going to go gluten and dairy free first and then take more out if I need to. I'm scared though, I'm a vegetarian, so doing a TED would be miserable for me.

Also starting dairy free here for my 4 mo. Pediatrician swears he just has reflux since he is gaining weight. But Meds are barely helping his spitting up and he is so fussy all day long unless he has undivided attention or movement. Anyone heard of immunolab bloodprint?

Re: Elimination Diet Support Thread!
Just wanted to give an update...been on TED for a week and a half now, and haven't seen any blood in LO's poop since a week ago Saturday. It's just a relief to see her poops become more normal...will be interesting to see if there is any change as I start adding things back in. We will be seeing a pediatric GI this coming Tuesday. I have no idea what will happen there either!
Found allergen free calcium tablets and prenatal vitamins (Rainbow Light Prenatal One). The first couple of days on this diet were miserable(lost about 5 lbs in 3 days and I didn't have anything to lose), but I added meat to my lunch and I'm doing much better now. I've also gotten much better at cooking a bunch of stuff and then refrigerating it for a quick, reheatable snack later. I really don't mind it when I'm home, but hate that I can't go out to eat. Not that I ate out a lot, but I really miss that. would have really liked to have eaten out for our anniversary! oh well. Its totally worth it to me.

Re: Elimination Diet Support Thread!
I just read most of the posts. Our youngest is the most grumpy baby I know. Is it possible it is something in the foods we eat? I have already eliminated dairy completely from son's diet and mine. He did test negative for dairy allergy but we see bloody mucousy poops whenever I have dairy. He also seemed to be suffering from stomach aches when I was eating dairy.

Its definitely possible...but its also possible the dairy is not completely out of your systems. It can take quite a while!
