Re: Basically it's the weekend!

I think for a number of reasons my life would be a lot easier if I had married Mike Holmes. Especially since that would make me Canadian. Maybe I still will.

It's frustrating because I wanted to pay them to prefinish the door so I wouldn't have to, and now I probably won't be able to afford it. Now I have to spend a whole day with the door open painting and waiting for paint to dry. Ugh.

Or you could paint it shut. If you paint it shut and never use it, you would likely never have to replace it again! :ilearnednothingfromwatchingmikeholmesalltheseyear s:

Hmmm, judging from Ru's comments, maybe *I* should have married Mike Holmes. Heaven help me if we ever purchase property and her solution is to paint things shut...

Sounds like a great breakfast to me!

Did you still make it to work on time, Ru? I hope E has a good day hanging out with J.

I heard Jen and MH leave this morning, then promptly rolled over and fell back to sleep. Now I need to get in the shower so that I am ready for the flea market and the drive later.
Yes, my meds were changed a little which is helping a bit.

I'm glad you got a lie in

Janine, I hope you are feeling better. And I totally know about being in the hossy and someone bringing the kids to you in, um, less than their best presentable condition. But at least you got to see them, right?

I want cupcakes now. I bought a oreo cookie pan recently, I might make that instead.
I'm okay, I'll live.... I mean this can't go on forever and every day that passes I have to be healing a bit. I know one day it's going to be over.

Sorry about the Ginger nekid incident. That's happened to us too often!

It looks like I have a good chance of having this room to myself tonight.

The other two girls left this morning.

Re: Basically it's the weekend!

Well, right now the front door is the primary entrance and exit to the house.

The garage is half full of reno trash. lumber, etc we will have to haul to the dump. So we aren't parking in there right now. I haven't pitched it yet because we have been reusing pieces of it for minor repairs. So we don't use the door in the garage much.

The only other door is the sliding glass door in the family room out to the back yard. Which is broken. You *can* open it, but it's a major PITA, so we have led the kids to believe it is really just a large window and not a door. We can't replace it any time soon because it is also not a stock size, and it is LARGE. I'd be putting money in the bathrooms, new roof/gutters/drainage/, new HVAC first. Also not anytime soon.

So painting the door shut is not an option at this point.
