Re: Vasectomy - anyone's partner have bad side effects?
My Dh and my neighbors dh got a vasectomy from the same doctor. They both complain of little twinges of pain every so often, or the feeling like they have been suddenly kicked in the balls. But it isn't very often and not to the point where they need to sit down or anything.
My Dh was told he would have some on and off discomfort (mild) for a year after due to the ligaments and blood vessels rearranging. We were also told that his risk for prostate cancer would be slightly higher than a man without a vasectomy. I'm not (nor DH) too concerned about this. There's too many variables in life that could make you at more of a risk for cancer overall to just concentrate on one procedure, IMO. We are happy now that it's done. It's such a huge relief.

My Dh hasn't had one yet but we have contemplated it. My dad however got one when I was younger and had so Many problems he had a reversal (which cleared up all the problems almost instantly). He keeps warning my Dh against it but we just aren't certain yet what will happen when we are done done!

Re: Vasectomy - anyone's partner have bad side effects?
DH got one done... No side effects. He did get it done at a military hospital though and the guy dropped his vas in the middle of the procedure. DH said that part hurt because they had to dig it back out.
It was him getting at vas or me going in for a tubal... and I just was not up for more abdominal surgery complications. We don't regret the decision at all and it's been worth it for sure.

Re: Vasectomy - anyone's partner have bad side effects?
She had to have gotten pregnant at least a year after the procedure. (but I know if you don't go back for the confirmation then it's a possibility)

Re: Vasectomy - anyone's partner have bad side effects?
Dh wants one... Maybe it's time to encourage him to do some more research...
I'm using an iud right now but don't want to use one forever. Dh is sure we are done, and I think so too but am not so positive as he is.I will say I think the risk to him having a v is less than the risk of me having another pregnancy and csection delivery. |

Noooooo! don't tell me this! although we have successfully done NFP for years now, I really want Dh to get a V done. I am so tired of worrying so much about getting pregnant again.
