question about pain possibly from a previous CS

Im praying and planning a Vbac. Im 39w5d and have started experiencing spasm like pains in my lower abdomen. Its very localized and sharp which leads me to believe its not "labor" related. I do have a dr appt tomorrow but in the mean time was wondering if any momma's have experienced this and could tell me if it could possibly be from LO moving down and causing pain around the old incision/scar tissue? The only other thing that even comes to mind to explain the pain is a possible bladder infection though I have no other symptoms of one. Any thoughts?

Re: question about pain possibly from a previous CS

I had that with my last pregnancy. doc said it's very normal... your scar/incision doesn't get as much blood flow going to it as your healthy skin does as you stretch and grow because of the baby. That can cause pain in that area. I was like, "It feels like the baby is gonna bust out through it!" (and it could hurt quite a bit depending on the day... those spasms of sharpness) and he just said it's perfectly normal.

great question! I occasionally get the pain as well. I wait it out, and if it is short lived, I relax. But in the moment, it can be a little scary!

I've gotten the scar pain before and it usually doesn't last long. Mostly mine comes from muscles but it almost seems connected to the end of the scar. Generally short lived then gone.

I had a lot of pain with my scar and subsequent pregnancy too. And it also hurt after the VBAC during recovery, just not quite as much as the actual recovery from my C.

Re: question about pain possibly from a previous CS

I had this pain during labor. My first labor was painless until DS rotated and gave me back labor. The only pain I had with DD was sharp short pain around the incision. I had read that this was a posiblity so it didn't bother me much during labor.
