Weekly chat, week of May 21

yeah next weekend June 1 is our 10 year anniversary and dear friends paid for a room for us for the night and got us gift cards to see a movie. I won a gift card on Mother's Day at church for a wonderful steakhouse and my parents are watching all 5 kids for the night and for Saturday!!!! Woohoo!!! So excited!!!!

Dh was going to take the older kids camping, but the NM wildfires are blowing CRAZY smoke up into our mountains. Our visibility is low and the kids and I- and even dh- all have irritated airways and red eyes from it! The wind should change tomorrow so we should get some relief.

Took an awesome childbirth class today and did some yoga. Still trying to pack a couple boxes every day and I finally feel like I am making some progress on that!

It was all smokey here in Denver from the NM fires too! Friday night we could smell it, but Saturday it was terrible here!

Well, I survived the vacation with the inlaws! It went Ok considering. FIL is a germ freak, and we had cabins and ate supper outdoors and grilled smores with 5 kids under 6 yrs :-) He was worried about big bird flying above, and low and behold, they heard him. One flew over and 'targeted' him ! He took it pretty well considering, but was very worried about our food afterwards!
It also drizzled/misted/rained THE WHOLE 4 DAYS except for about 3 hours the 2 nights we grilled supper. It was cold - 40-50 degrees. 2 minivans, 6 adults, and 5 kids put on 700 miles- not the ideal thing. I think I was getting as restless as the kids were.
We went to Bear Country, Mt. Rushmore, Rushmore Cave, 1880s train, Needles Highway, Chuckwagon Supper/show, and a lil shopping too of course :-)
