I was going to list these on ebay but decide to do a lotto instead.
I have 100 pieces of megabloks (or similarly compatible duplo sized) pieces...pics below. these are the medium sized blocks for 1 1/2 to 5 year olds
Shipping would be 7ppd, I will cover the difference (or refund the difference)...unfortunately, it does not fit a padded FRE
To enter, please suggest some methods you have used/heard of to teach a 4 year old how to write & read.

Teaching a four-year old... teach them a letter at a time starting with vowels. Focus on maybe a letter a week. And read them LOTS of books!

They teach both letter sounds and how to write your letters. I do not agree with everthing they have, but it is fun and so my boys will do it.

I love using "100 easy lessons to teach your child to read" and my kids really LOVE Leap Frog Letter Factory DVD and Leap Frog Word Talking Words Factory DVD... we also really like the "fridge phonics" by leap frog. It makes learning letters lots of fun. :-)

Some other things that we have done are making word eggs... easter eggs turned on their side (crack going up and down) with a consonant on one side of the crack and a common ending on the other side... For instance... at on the right and h, m, f, c, s, b, p, and r on the left... that way, when they turn the egg, they read rhyming words.

we are looking for the same ideas!!! my son love to 'write' his letters in his paint bag..... put some paint (or pudding) in a large zip lock bag and tape closed (to prevent leaks)- your child can practice writting letters, shapes, words, etc with his finger...... no mess, fun, educational!!!

My son is not yet that age, but I get lots of great ideas from the blog counting coconuts.

He will be turning 2 this year I plan to go letter by letter and do themed weeks with activities. Bilingually

My LO is not that old yet, but I know that my friend said the Alpha Bug helped a lot with her kids for learning letters. She also liked the leapfrog reader thing, but I know that's pricey. I know when I was a kid my parents just used books that I really liked (mostly had them memorized) and would show me the words and then when reading other books I had to say the words. My dad did this with my half sisters too and it seemed to help.

My DH is super into legos and really wants to get DD some! So it is quite ironic that you posted this right now! I'll tell him he has to wait until the lotto is over.
