Loaf pan

I am thinking about making some bread next week. What should I look for in a loaf pan? How much should I pay? I know I want stainless steel. I will probably buy from amazon or ace.

Re: Loaf pan

I just buy the cheap metal ones that cost a buck or so at walmart. I use it for bread, cakes, meat loaf. Brought them to Germany with me and they hold up fine.

Re: Loaf pan

I bought mine from Walmart too, but it wasn't super cheap. I have 2 different kinds one light colored and it has a indented ring around the bottom, normal size, the sides widen slightly as they go up . The other is a Wilton Pan (my favorite) is dark coated, all sides and bottom are completely flat- no indentions, the sides are completely straight up and down- does not widen at all. its a normal sized loaf pan but the sides are about 1/2 inch taller then the average loaf pan. I love this pan. it is the most consistent and even baking.

I have two Calphalons that I've had for about 5 years and I use them for lots of stuff. I think they are non stick. I got them at BBB for maybe $15?
