MFW K for Pre-K?
Has anyone used this as a pre-k program? I was going to use HOD's LHTH, but I think it will be too easy. I thought I might just jump into this K curriculum instead. We would of course go at her own pace. She'll be 5 in January and is starting to read with BOB books. I'm really just so proud of her right now. Wdyt? Anyone used it at 4 1/2?

Re: MFW K for Pre-K?
I have heard of quite a few moms using the mfwk program over two years. There is a page in the catalog that says 5 by September 1st, or some older four year olds, and lists readiness signs.
I am planning to purchase it next year for my son (he will be 5 on dec 2, so a bit early...)

I'll go look through the book and see what it says. She's starting to explode with learning. Now if only we could get those fine motor skills to catch up we'd be awesome. That's okay though, I'm not going to hold her back in other areas.

Re: MFW K for Pre-K?
There is a local homeschool support/tutoring group that meets once a week for classes (twice a week in high school). Ages 3 (preschool) through 12th grade. In preschool and prek (age 4) they use MFW K. They go through it twice I believe; I'd have to look at the info binder and it's packed now (we're moving to a new house).

I think we're going to try it. I can always adapt the fine motor skills part. We'll be doing pre-k HWOT as well.

Re: MFW K for Pre-K?
I love that you posted this! My daughter will be 4 on monday (5/28) so a lot younger than everyone else's, but we are starting with MFW kindergarten in the fall. We will be laid back and I will definitely not push her, but she loves learning right now and I think she is ready.

I think that my daughter will love the science aspects of MFW. It seems right up her alley. I'm trying to slowly set up our school room this summer too. I'm trying to decide whether we are going to do a table or desks. We'll see I've seen some cute little kids desks, but I'm thinking a small table would be more practical for crafts. We'll see.
