Cleaning

I have a Lansinoh hand pump and I've been needing to pump a lot more lately to try to bring up my supply in the right side only. I'm not getting a lot of milk & feeling frustrated at cleaning the whole dang thing several times a day. Is there any shortcuts? How do you pumping at work mammas clean your pumps in between? I was wondering if I could just put it in the fridge in between pumps & then just do the whole warm soapy water cleaning once a day.

Re: Cleaning

Medela does wipes and it just says to wipe off pump flanges and stuff & dry so not still wet or try medelA STEAM CLEAN bags. in about 2mins steamed for stuff and they come with 5 bags that you can use 20 times each. I think I have some left. You can put bottles, nipples and other stuff microwavable safe in them to clean.

I EPd for two years and that's what I did. Run some water through it first before storing it or it will get sticky.

Re: Cleaning

I found if not a scrub brush and soap and water there was a build up inside so the wipes are a definite to try they are fast. I used when we went to weddings and I pumped in bathroom...

Re: Cleaning

I only wash once a day. I don't even refridgerate it...though my pump bag is insulated. Sooooooooooo much easier. When I was EPing I actually just left it totally hooked up in my living room.

Re: Cleaning

I only wash once a day too. I put everything in a ziploc bag and store in the fridge during the day and just wash at night. Not having any problems so far

Does it need to be in the fridge between uses?
