WE'RE HOME!! Both Teagan and I were released this afternoon. The kids are over the moon and I'm now playing that fun game of balancing positive baby sibling cuddles and making sure Teagan isn't smothered! They're both trying to be my big helper, which is lovely.
All the neighbourhood kids came barreling over as soon as they saw us. I made a quick rule of no kids on the porch for a few days. I love them all, but there's no way I want to go back to that hospital for ANYTHING right now! They oooed and ahhhed at her between the porch spindles and were really good! Re: May 27th-June 1st Junebug Chat
So glad to hear you are both home, Lucy!!
AFM - went in to get the "gel" and was having too many contractions...I am still 2 cm and very soft so they sent me home and I go back tomorrow at 5am for the pitocin. The contractions there were around every 5-7 minutes and at the "halfway" level on their little tape tracker for intensity. Baby looked good on the heart rate monitor also. I'm still having contractions...varying time between but anywhere between every 7-8 minutes and upwards of 10-15 between...so nothing regular yet.

Re: May 27th-June 1st Junebug Chat
Well we are done our meeting and things have definately picked up a bit since then, much stronger contractions but they are still not close enough together to count for real labor so here's to hoping things progress. I think a walk after supper is in order and maybe things will get moving from there.

Re: May 27th-June 1st Junebug Chat
I haven't caught up on what's been going on in the last 24 hours yet, but I need to vent.
I found a super-cute diaper bag online and talked myself into ordering it. It was kind a splurge (not because it was extremely expensive, but because I didn't really NEED it), but I was so excited to get it because I hadn't really splurged on anything with this pregnancy yet. I had it delivered to the store and I was so pumped when I got a text this morning saying it was in. I went to pick it up this afternoon, but I had a million other things to buy while I was there, so I put the bag under the cart. And forgot about it when I loaded everything into the van. I realized it on my way home and was back to the store 5 minutes later, but it was gone. I checked the cart stall, checked with customer service, but no luck. I left my phone number with customer service, but who am I kidding? If someone didn't turn it in right away, they obviously just swiped it and walked off with it. What is wrong with people these days?! If I found something that had been left behind in a cart, I ABSOLUTELY would return it to customer service....there wouldn't even be a question in my mind. I am just so angry right now....it's been about 2 hours and my blood is still boiling. When I got home, I was bawling my eyes out because I was so angry and DH was afraid something horrible had happened. I think he thought I was a little off my rocker when I told him what I was so upset about (and I probably am being more emotional than I normally would be). He was like, "It's not that big of a deal. Just order a new one." And I did, but it's the PRINCIPLE of the whole thing, dangit! OK, I'll stop venting now. Just had to get that off my chest and maybe I'll be able to stop thinking about it and getting more and more upset about it....

Re: May 27th-June 1st Junebug Chat
My mom just ordered me another diaper bag!
I was having a hard time justifying ordering a new one, since it felt like I was paying double-price for just one diaper bag. Anyway, that really helps the mood tonight!Plus, I had a productive evening and got my hospital bags mostly packed (except the baby's stuff....I'm waiting to be able to pack it in the diaper bag). Is it weird that most of what I packed is snacks? I remember how hungry I got last time after delivery, plus DH spends a lot of time at the hospital during the 2 days following delivery and he's a snacker. I don't bring many clothes because I bleed A LOT right away and would rather bleed all over hospital gowns and mesh underwear than have to go home and get stains out of my clothes. So I have way more food than clothing in my bags!
