Diaper Swappers

We cloth diapered from day 1.

loved it.

DS is about 7 pounds here

Me made "premie (4-9pounds)" cover with GMD premie prefold under LOVE

Me made "xs(6-14 pounds)" cover with GMD premie prefold under Also LOVE

Bummis super brite XS with Premie prefold under. Pretty good fit

Thirsties XS with premie prefold under (HATED THIS)

Then again at 2 weeks and almost 9 pounds

Me made XS cover with newborn GMD prefold under

Bummis XS super brite with newborn GMD prefold under

SO I LOVE my covers, but of course I do that is why I started making them.

LOL And bummis super brites would be my 2nd choice. I am hating thirsties covers, not a good fit, legs too tight, way to much bulk in the bum and between legs, the diaper sits at his knees. ICK.

My favorite covers by far are the ones I got from Aleah. They fit the best. We're sadly outgrowing the Xs, and I only have 1 small, so I ordered 3 more. (don't tell DH!). Second favorite covers are the superbrites and just our woolies. Alva Nb's are still fitting well, HH's are done though. The small HH's are a good fit though. My DH wont use prefolds. They "scare" him. He freaked out with the snappie the other day. Started yelling from the bathroom for me to get in there. Got there and he had a terrified look on his face when he asked "what is this apparatus?". I had a good laugh from that.

We've been cloth diapering from day 1 but his NB diapers didn't last very long. He was 8 lbs 4 oz at birth and was 8 lbs 13 oz at 2 weeks old (this past Wednesday). NB nana's bottoms are too small. NB grovias are too low rise for him now (the fit was great for the first week or so though). He pees through the NB nanas bottoms, grovia, and lil joeys now. NB kissaluv aio's fit well on the waist but have gaps in the legs. I really liked the NB Blissful Booty diapers the first 2 weeks and they still fit him. I haven't tried them recently so I'm not sure if they're still absorbent enough for him or not. XS BG fit ok but I prefer the small BGs on him...I just have to make sure that the velcro is pulled tight enough so there are no gaps in the leg holes. Small velcro sposoeasys fit well (the snap ones are still too big). My favorite diapers for him now are small bottombumpers and small nana's bottoms.

I started with the Little comet tails patter ( you can find it on amazon) But made some changes, adjusted where the velcro tabs are, on snap versions I added a ton of snaps ( I like them to be almost as adjustable as the velcro ones for size). I increased the leg gussets a tad, cut the back of the diaper a little higher, added a flap on the inside for holding a trifolded prefold or other insert. and whola.

Its a great pattern, I just needed to do some tweaking for my own happiness!

That's so funny.. I was just going to say with all those changes you ought to sell them

Wish I had the sewing skills to do that. I make my own fitteds, but I haven't had much success sewing PUL. I think I need to get a walking foot for my sewing machine...
