We had gotten 10 head of HUGE cabbage from our CSA last year and made kraut in a 6 gallon brew bucket. We got 55 pints! But some of that went to BIL in Texas and SIL in Washington. We are never out of kraut at either MIL's or our house. I love doing it in the quart jars. So much less messy. And I don't have to can in like 7 batches and sit in the kitchen all day when it's done

Canning newbie here! I canned some strawberry kiwi jelly and need to make some more today. I have a big and little water bath canner. My friend has a pressure canner that she hasn't used for a few years that I borrowed last year. I attempted canning some chicken but was too scared that the pressure gauge could be off and I would kill us all eating it so I threw it out. I thought about trying it out again this year to try some veggies. Do the gauges really need tested every year?

And I love that canning shelf. I can't wait to show it to DH!
