Re: Bedtimes and Wake-up Times

DS is 4.5, his bedtime has been 7pm since he started having a bedtime. He used to wake up after 7am, then at 3 it went to between 5 and 6am (UGH!) and now he is up between 6 and 7am. If he goes down later he still gets up early so we go for maximum sleep here!

It doesn't matter one bit how late my son goes to bed..he still wakes up by 6:30 am. He has only slept till 8 one day in his entire life. Normally, he goes to be by 9pm..Weekends 10pm. Even on the rare occasions that he hasn't gone to bed before midnight (trips, family events) he still wakes up his normal time.

Re: Bedtimes and Wake-up Times

My son sleeps with me so he generally goes to bed when I do. I'm a night owl, so I stay up late. So DS usually goes to sleep anywhere between 10:30 pm - midnight? We wake up anytime between 8:30 - 10 am. Now if we had commitments where we had to change our schedule...like if I had to go to work or he had to go to preschool or something, we'd have to adjust this and get in bed earlier. But being a SAHM and a 23 month old, I don't see the point.

Sometimes I do wish though that he would go to bed earlier so I could have some ME time before I go to bed. BUT...then he'd wake up early and I'm soooo not a morning person.

ODS is 4 and YDS is 20 months. They go to bed between 8 and 9 and sleep till between 7 and 8. Usually, the baby wakes first and plays, then TAZ gets up and climbs into the crib with his brother and they play cars together until I get up, usually for about 1/2 hr. TAZ will wake me up if there's a problem with his brother such as a leg stuck in the crib or a soaked diaper. They enjoy their morning time together and I admit that I frequently lay in bed watching them play on the video monitor. It's just so sweet!

Bedtime: 10pm
Wake up: 9-10ish

DH works thirds, so it's best for everyone that we are on a later schedule for sleeping. Blackout curtains are our friends.

My 17m is like this! If she goes to bed later sometimes she will get up at 530a! But normally she is up between 6-7 every day.

It took my oldest until he was 7 to finally learn to sleep in. Last year was the first summer we could move bedtime back, which he really wanted, because he'd actually sleep in longer than 6 in the morning. There may be hope!

Re: Bedtimes and Wake-up Times

bed btwn 9:30 & 10pm. up in the morning usually btwn 8 & 9. sometimes (pretty rare) one will wake at 7:30 & sometimes like this past Saturday they'll sleep until 9:45.

I am not a morning person & DD is not either. DS just goes along for the ride & is fine w/ it. The kids don't go to preschool or daycare, so there really isn't a reason for them to get into the early to bed early to rise routine. We're also planning to homeschool, so the getting up for school wont be an issue.
